On Sept 14, 2000, I met Martin.
I didn't expect to find a husband on the internet. I just wanted to find some net-friends for improving my English. People in my place, generally bear negative impression on Internet, especially ICQ, so do I. Honestly, I didn't believe in true net love, until I met Martin. I didn't consider him to be my boyfriend since he (well, we) always talked about boring stuff, like politics, religion etc, until we started chatting on phone. He is always humorous, sincere and true.
Oh yes, my hobbies! Um... ... I have much more than Martin does. Apart from him, I like sleeping, but the nights are usually short. Just when I close my eyes my alarm clock starts "screaming". I like exercises, such as running, hiking, playing badminton etc, except swimming. At this point, we are very different. Martin doesn't like them much. I used to spend much time on them, especially running, hiking. But now, I become less energetic since I lack the time.
There is one thing I have to mention. Staying with Martin is really dangerous. He reads my
mind and this is rare in the world.
I am glad I found him.
Now it's my turn to describe myself:
I was born on March 7, 1971 at 6:20 A.M. in Salzkotten, Germany.
I grew up in Bochum. My family moved to Paderborn when I was 18. There I
learnt the job of a TV engineer and later went to a computer science school.
Since August 1, 2003 I work as English teacher in a kindergarten.
But enough of the job, you want to read the personal stuff, right? O.K., I just go ahead.
My wife and I met on the Internet. Yes, really.
You know, for my company I had to travel to the United States. And I thought, that it might be
a good idea to meet a nice girl in the US. So I placed an ad on www.singles.com.
And there she found me. We wrote eMails to each other and later we also chatted on the phone --
our phone bills were gigantic. Later, we phoned over the Internet. This way you can save much money.
But back to the phone chats: After three months we wanted to marry. And in December 2001 this finally became true.
I am really the luckiest man in the world.
And now, for something completely different...my hobbies.
Well, actually there aren't that many. My hobbies are:
|
I bought my first IBM compatible PC in 2000. All the years before I had computers from Commodore. I started with a C16/+4, which was more advanced
than the Commodore 64, e.g. it had BASIC V3.5 instead of BASIC V2, spreadsheed and word processing built into its ROM. But
it was not very compatible with the C64. So I made a technological step back and bought a C64 -- for the games.
My next computer was an Amiga 500. I used this for about 3½ years. Then I got the
Amiga 4000, which was my first computer with a hard drive. It was a Seagate with
250 MB. In the early stage the computer had 2 MB of RAM -- and what should I say, you could run many applications with that
bit of RAM. But later, when I wanted to use the computer for the Internet I upgraded up to 18 MB RAM.
Since I don't have an Amiga anymore I emulate it on the PC by using WinUAE. The emulator
works fine.
If you are interested in Amiga computers, there are many (German) sites. You find them on my link page.
